If you are a kid in Latin America, it is very likely that your heroes will be football players. Names like Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic come out the mouth of every child who loves and practice this sport. Their dream is to be like them, and they practice every day non-stop with the purpose of making the same moves of their idols. In this case, the key word is practice.

Football is the sport most played around the world. People in every continent play it and it can be played in any season. Especially if you are a child, nothing can stop you from playing the game you love. This is why a good coach is so important. Somebody who can encourage, motivate and know the sport.

When it comes to training kids, one of the most important aspects to take into consideration is the age. Depending on how old the child is, each strategy will change:

  • From three to six years old, the idea is to make the kid have fun. To fall in love with the game, always making them understand the activity they are practicing.
  • From seven to nine years old, coaches should start focusing on more specific moves, such as accuracy on passing and dribbling the ball.
  • From ten to thirteen, players are ready to learn more technical skills like speed, agility and creativity.

Besides techniques and discipline, another important element in the training of children is to let them dream. Kids need to feel that they can accomplish anything, always of course with hard work and a lot of practice. It is also important to highlight the involvement of the parents. They are an essential part of the child’s workout because they are responsible for the diet of the player, the psychologist and their number one fans.
